WHAT MAKES DIRTY BOOTS SPECIAL?

A gap exists in the South African market for a definitive guide to the best adventures in South Africa. DIRTY BOOTS will be the first guide to represent over 100 adventures in South Africa.

WHEN WILL THE GUIDE BE DISTRIBUTED?

The guide will be distributed throughout the year of publication.

HOW MANY ADVERTISERS WILL FEATURE IN THE GUIDE?

There are over 1 500 adventure operators operating in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. DIRTY BOOTS aims to feature at least 600 advertisers per issue. This will ensure that we are indeed the definitive guide to the best adventures in South Africa.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

Accounts must be settled by 28 February 2011. Advertisements not paid for in full will be excluded from print. A cancellation fee will be charged. Payment can be made electronically, by cheque or by cash deposit.

WHAT IF I OFFER MORE THAN ONE ACTIVITY?

There will be an activity-based index at the back of the guide indicating page numbers. An easier way is to split your advertising into the various activities you offer. A discounted rate is available.

HOW MANY GUIDES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED?

30 000 guides will be distributed during the year.

WHAT SIZE PHOTOGRAPH DO I SUPPLY AND IN WHAT FORMAT?

Email only quality jpg, minimum 300 dpi to esna@dirtyboots.co.za.

ARE YOU INCLUDING THE PRICE OF AN ACTIVITY IN THE ADVERTISEMENT?

No. In order to keep the guide current, it is feasible to omit prices as these may change.

MAY I DESIGN MY OWN AD?

No. All advertisements will follow a standard layout.

MAY I INCLUDE MY LOGO IN THE ADVERTISEMENT?

No. The guide is intended to act as a guide and not a magazine. The design guidelines therefore do not permit the inclusion of logos.

MAY I REQUEST A SPECIFIC PAGE?

No. While every effort is made to ensure visibility for all advertisers, the guide will be sequenced alphabetically.

WHAT ARE THE REGIONS IN THE GUIDE?

There are 11 regions: Nine South African provinces, Swaziland and Lesotho. Depending on the amount of advertisers per region, these may be divided into sub-regions such as Garden Route etc.

HOW WILL I BE INVOICED?

An invoice will be emailed to you upon acceptance of your booking. Should you request it, a hard copy will be mailed. Full payment is due by 28 February 2011.

ARE YOU ALLOWING OTHER ORGANISATIONS TO ADVERTISE OTHER THAN ADVENTURE OPERATORS?

Yes. As there is limited space, only the inside front and inside back covers will be made available to other advertisers. We regret that no accommodation establishments will be allowed to advertise in the guide.

DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE?

Yes, the website address is www.dirtyboots.co.za and it will be updated soon after the printed guide is completed.  The website currently gets 500 unique visitors a day.

WHO OWNS DIRTY BOOTS AND WHERE IS ITS HEAD OFFICE?

Johan Radcliffe and Esna Theron own the business. Both have an extensive knowledge of the adventure industry. Johan is an avid adventurer. The office is in Bergvliet, Cape Town.
